Or perhaps you think that you could go heavier on a one-rep-max day, but you’re afraid that if you do, you may fail. So you never attempt it. Sure, failing sucks. It’s totally disappointing; but sometimes, I’d venture to guess that you are afraid of failing in front of others…so, you quit when you’re ahead…but then, you never really get ahead...
The other day, I read a great quote by CrossFit founder and coach, Greg Glassman. It read:
“Have fun screwing up…it means that you are removing your ego from the problem”. Sometime, our egos can cause epidemics.
The next time that you want to try something new, attempt to remove your ego from the situation. Try your hardest not to care about what those around you will think. They all screw up too. Do it. I think that you’ll find it quite liberating. But, not only will you be liberated you’ll start to see some serious progress…
